The Arte anime mainly takes place in Florence with some episodes featuring Venice. Florence lies with in Tuscany in Italy. These are the locations @LordHelmchenx and @And3rgraund (me) have researched and visited during September 2021.

At the end of this blog article, you can find a Google Maps which include all the locations we have visited, if you want to visit Florence and Tuscany yourself. ^_^

Museo di San Marco

This is the place where Arte lives from episode 1. Sadly the inner realm of this section is not accessible, I did these photos though a window in a hallway.
I am pretty sure that this is the wrong hallway, but as written, the other part of this building sadly was not accessible. This is from a different inner patio which looks the same and is open to the public.

Piazza della Santissima Annunziata

In general they simplified the locations in the anime and this can be also seen here. Nothing the less, it nicely captures the style and feeling of Florence.

Via dai Servi

This was a tricky cut, the houses are in real higher and are blocking most of the view on the Cathedral of Florence. Also the Tower is in a different position in real life.

Piazza del Doumo

This is simply the plaza in front of the Cathedral of Florence. There are actually a lot of cuts of the cathedral itself, but you need a drone for those correct photos… or the correct post cards >_<

Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore

I am not sure from where they took the pictures of the cathedral. Places where those pictures could be taken, were not open to the public. Best I could find was a fridge magnet with a painting of the cathedral >_<

Palazzo Davanzati

This is the room of Arte. Sadly the museum was closed on a Tuesday when we visited Florence. Therefore I only took a picture from the museums web page.

Piazza della Signoria

This one is also not possible without a drone or something like that. Here I photoshoped the geometry of the picture a bit to make it look a bit more similar.

Ponte Santa Trinita

This one is also a bit weird. They somehow mirrored this scene I think. You can see that the stairs leading down to the river are mirrored in real live.

Ponte Vecchio

This bridge is quite interesting. I like its looks and how crowded and lively it is. In real life there is a wall at the edge of the river.

Chiesa di Santo Spirito

Sadly I could not take pictures inside this little church. The inside is a lot bigger than in the anime, but the basic layout or construction resembles the little church in the anime, while being much simpler.

Piazzale Michelangelo

This is from the top of the Piazzale Michelangelo. In this cut they moved the Ponte Veccio to a different position, so it visible in the anime, but in real life it is more to the left outside of the photo.
In the artwork from the manga they kept the Ponte Vecchio at its original place, no moving of bridges ^_^

As you might have noticed, Arte is more of a budget production with less detailed backgrounds. Still it was a nice and pleasent watch and I can still recommend it if you like slow paced slice of life anime. It is not a must watch, but esspecially in combination with a trip to Tuscany/Italy it wasn’t a waste of time. ^_^
